- Despite living in Tuolumne County, Frank White, owner
of Berryessa Pumps & Repair, has elected to keep the business in Benicia.
"Benicia has proven to be a good industrial focal point," says Mr. White. "There is good support here for the types of materials and vendors we need. And Benicia is centrally located to our customer base." Mr. White acquired the repair and distribution center of Krough Pump Company of Benicia in 1997. At the time, he lived at Lake Berryessa in Napa County. He liked the name Berryessa, so he renamed the company Berryesa Pumps & Repair. Since that time, the company has built a reputation for the servicing and repair of large industrial pumps throughout northern California. Its customers are in the petroleum refining, food processing, waste and water treatment, and chemical processing industries. |
Berryessa Pumps'
market stretches from Ukiah to Fresno, including Tuolumne County, now Mr.
White's home turf. He makes the trip to Benicia a couple of times
a week and has a four-person staff to operate the business.
Berryessa Pumps & Repair, which was located at 5000 E. Second Street in Benicia, recently moved to 6054 Egret Court. Mr. White calls it a lateral move in that the approximately 2,000sf facility is about the same size as the previous location. However, that is where the similarity ends. "It's a brand-new facility," he says. "It was outfitted to our specifications, and there is a reduction in rent - a significant reduction." Larry Hazard of CRS in Walnut Creek represented both Berryessa Pumps & Repair and the landlord, The Tyris Corporation, in the three-year lease. For more information, call 707-748-0449. |
